Product Description

From the mid 70’s through the 80’s, Saint Patrick’s Day was very special for Frank Miller. While often he shot the parade as a staffer for the Irish Press Group, he much preferred to have the day off and mooch around the fringes looking for the quirky stuff. If he was shooting for the paper, the main focus was the bling of the floats, politicians and performers, but for him, on his days off, the fascinating thing was the audience, the crowds of ordinary decent people, families, kids, youths, American and Celtic nation visitors, all on a very special day out, enjoying a celebration of Irishness.

Dublin then was greyer than it is today but the parade was an exceptional blast of colour in the city and, for that reason, he shot as much as possible on colour transparency film.
