Product Description

Algirdas Musneckis (1936) collects instant cameras. He acquires them in auctions or at flea markets, very often with exposed films inside, which he develops and prints, and becomes the owner of images from different parts of the world and events that are often very personal. The images are particularly timely and relevant, recovering collective and personal memories. Unlike most professionals, Musneckis is not afraid of naive photographic amateurishness. While standing back as an author, erasing himself as an artist, he gives space to incredibly sincere and dramatic images of lost families, travel, festive or incidental photographs. This is precisely how the images have become public. It is precisely why they can address us and show their unexpected resemblance to conceptual Postmodern photography.
